Mother’s Day
Sunday we awoke to soft gray clouds and a light wind @ 77degrees in Waller, TX. We had a good continental breakfast in the hotel, Donnie Mixon came to see us off, and kickstands were up before 8:00AM. We rode thru some countryside and small towns headed back to I 10 on into San Antonio. We made it before 1:00PM and checked into the hotel. We had to wait for our rooms. We rode 211 miles in light traffic and the sun came out about the second gas stop. A good short ride today.
We took a hotel shuttle to the River Walk. We had a round of drinks at Dirty Nelly’s Irish Pub and then walked over to Casa del Rio for a fine Mexican dinner. We walked several blocks along the River Walk. Since the others had been here before they returned to the hotel while Gary, Darlene and I visited the Alamo. We took the shuttle back to the hotel by 6:15 PM. We’ll rest up as we have a long day (over 400 miles) set for tomorrow.
